About

We're pleased to present Tricia Yu's popular Yang style short form (Cheng Man-Ch'ing lineage) instructional video. In this video Tricia Yu reviews the Yang style short form principles and philosophy. She presents the form in a clear and easy-to-learn format amidst beautiful settings. A mirrored back-drop allows the viewer to see the movements simultaneously from three angles. This is not a good video for beginners. After a lengthy introduction the actual 'instructional' section is very fast and the movements are not well explained. We are expected to learn purely through watching, while mysterious phrases like "sink back 100%", "fold in" and "hold the ball" are no help at all because they are not explained.

I agree but, I have the instructional book from Tricia Yu "Tai Chi Mind And Body" (Dorling Kindersley - ISBN:989-550-124-2), and I find the video an helpfully ad to my practise. It's a must to having both of them.
